Why You Should Consider Blind Dating
When internet dating came into the mainstream you welcomed it with open arms; why wouldn’t you? Yet you remain cautious when it comes to the grandfather of introductions; the blind date. Don’t make the mistake of thinking they’re one and the same. Internet dating differs from the blind date in that you usually end up knowing more about your internet date than your blind date before you meet in person.
Most people believe they know themselves best. Taking that thinking one step further, they reason that no one could possibly find potential matches for them. This is erroneous thinking, and here’s why;
1. You have no time
With all the time and energy you spend on your career, your friends, taking care of yourself and perhaps children, plus trying to squeeze in time to find a date, do yourself a favor and unload some of that responsibility. In particular, finding someone to date.
You know your friends and family are just itching to get their teeth into this one, so let them. Let go of some of that control and have them set you up. Sure, it could be a bad date, but it also could be the start of something wonderful. When all is said and done, it’s just a date.
2. Were things to work out
you’ll have a super romantic story to tell everyone. Blind dates are pretty far up there on the list of cool “how we met” tales.
3. Your friends know you very well
Frequently our friends know us even better than we know ourselves. Really! This part is crucial when you find yourself dating the wrong person, over and over again. It’s a frustrating cycle to break on your own so why not let your friends give it a shot? You might just be pleasantly surprised at who they come up with.
4. There almost no risk
No matter whom you go out with, a date gone wrong is never fun. Unlike dating a co-worker or that cute gal down the hall, you never, ever have to see a blind date again. All of which can make your Monday morning that much more palatable; Mondays need all the help they can get!
5. It increases your options
The thing about finding your own dates is that it limits your scope. The net you can cast is only going to go so far. By enlisting friends and family members your net and your search area just got that much wider, thereby increasing your options.
